i am in that stage and i feel as if i'm seeking out the ttatt.

i feel the wt society is hiding way too much.

Sooner! It takes time to build who you are, so don't let the JWs co-opt that. They want to fill you with themselves rather than let you make up your own mind. Follow the good advice like avoiding drugs and alcohol and that, but you must now negotiate your own values and beliefs. I became a JW at your age and was in for 14 years. Take it from me, that although I learned some good things from the WT, it basically sucked away my youth with very little to show. Don't make that mistake. You're young so use your energies for something worthwhile.

this was just said to me by a friend who was disfellowshipped just over 2 years ago.

she just had a miscarriage, and her partner dumped her rather than supported her through this process.

she told her jw parents, and they refuse to even call her or offer her any emotional support.

She wouldn't go to one anyway I don't think. I think the best thing, in lieu of her parents actually loving her for her, is that she has true friends support her.

Probably. About bloody time! I used to live in tropical Australia and currently live in subtropical Australia. Ties kill the guys in summer, especially up north.maybe they realise they can keep the men out longer if they give up the ties.

1) in conscious level, everyone agrees with the principle of cause and effect that says a cause precedes every effect, and every effect is the cause for another effect/s.

in subconscious level, everyone knows that if there is a cause for everything, then there a cause (or a designer) for the principle of causation also.

and this cause is more real than the principle of causation itself, just like source is more real than the resources!.

I don't think she will somehow. She's starting to see that the JW religion is cruel to people like her. Her mother will never let her forget she was dfd for x amount of years if she does come back. I don't think she'll go back after this.

As for her dad being in jail, it probably has something to do with when he was disfellowshipped. My friend was shocked when he got dfd and she didn't want her daughter staying at her parents' house. From her time as a biker 'moll' she knew a lot of people in prison and pulled strings to make sure her father wasn't set upon by the other inmates. It's all very weird. She was there for him though, and he's not here for her. This really hurts her and I think will highlight to her just how callous this cult is.

They're everywhere these days!!

just spotted witnesses handing out brochures like they were going out of fashion this afternoon.

this was at oxford circus in london (one of the busiest shopping areas of london).

they were actually getting in the way and had boxes of the rubbish!!.

Gosh no wonder the wt is always going on about how anyone can pioneer if in America all you have to do is stand or sit holding a magazine. No long driveways, no having to talk to people, no physical exertion or sweat! Get your hours in with two or three days of nothing! Certainly not like that here. It's hard slog.

Good story! No doubt you'll be used by jws as a warning example on the evils of college. It's so good to see so many new people on this forum. People just aren't taking the rubbish anymore. If you want to help your family I recommend "Freedom of Mind' by Steve Hassan. If you haven't heard of him, he's a leading professional on cults and high control religions. He has dedicated his career to helping cult victims and their families.
